In general, I sing all compositions in their original language, so as not to alienate the impression of the original wording from the composed environment. But where the literal understanding seems important to me, as for example in Mussorgsky’s Songs and Dances of Death, I sing in German.

The main focus of my ever-growing repertoire of songs is the art song of the 19th and 20th centuries. Audiences and critics unanimously praise the reflected interpretation of word and sound, which I have audibly made the central concern of my interpretation.
